This original belt is completely handmade of chaguar fibers. The beautiful buckle is made of a wood called “palo santo” (Bursera graveolens) that means “sacred wood”, and it is found mainly in tropical America, around the Pacific coast and in South America. This wood, due to its properties and qualities, can be used for physical and mental harmonization, as well as for energetic cleaning of the environment.

Our products are completely handmade by Women of the Northern Argentinean Indigenous WICHI COMMUNITY, settled in the Gran Chaco Area of Northern Argentina.

The women of the Wichi Community have learned from their mothers and grandmothers the art of create wonderful clothing and bags and other products from vegetable fibers.

They know that the most beautiful pigments, are those obtained from roots, barks and resins of plants which grow in the Bushes.

The work of the fiber of the chaguar is an exclusive task of  Wichi women, the men help with the load. The chaguar plant is a bromeliad (a type of tropical plant) that grows in the bushes of The Gran Chaco Area. Fibers are extracted from its leaves.

All these Artisans are free and intuitive. They work together in community, applying ancient techniques and producing unique handcrafted pieces.

NATURAL FIBERS SHOULD NOT BE WASHED. DRY CLEANING ONLY.
