Handmade Placemat – Natural Fibers

Placemat hand-woven by Women of the Pilagá Community from palm leaves called “Carandillo”.

Our products are completely handmade by Women of the Northern Argentinean Indigenous Community of Pilagá, Province of Formosa, Argentina.

All these women have learned from their mothers and grandmothers the art of create wonderful baskets, trays, and different products from vegetable fibers.

They know that the most beautiful pigments, are those obtained from roots, barks and resins of plants which grow in the Bushes.

All these Artisans are free and intuitive. They work together in community, applying ancient techniques and producing unique handcrafted pieces.

EACH PIECE IS NAMED AFTER THE ARTISAN.
